Teachers of the School of History including Wang Tao, Yu Wenjie, Zhai Yian, Yin Jie and Chen Haiyi, the 2018 undergraduate counselor, together with the 2020 archaeology undergraduates, visited the Datongpu archaeological site of Nanjing University in Jianhu County, Jiangsu Province, to express their gratitude to the teachers and students on the site.
The group arrived at the archaeological practice base at 11 o'clock in the morning and received a warm welcome from the teachers and students there.
Liu Xinglin, head of the base, led the group to visit the multimedia conference room, exhibition room, base warehouse and so on. He introduced in detail the current excavation status and achievements of this semester at the Datongpu site.
Everyone took a close look at some of the excavated cultural relics that have been cleaned and repaired.
The teachers and students visited the archaeological practice site in the afternoon. Liu Xinglin and the students in charge of each excavation site introduced the general situation of excavation.
According to them, at present, the excavation work has all been finished and the indoor sorting work has been started.
On behalf of the School of History, Associate Dean Wang Tao expressed his appreciation and encouraged the teachers and students involved in the archaeological work. The 2018 archaeology interns at the base and the 2020 archaeology freshmen with early admission were deeply encouraged and influenced. They felt confident in studying archaeology and expressed their commitment to striving for the construction of archaeology with Chinese characteristics and Chinese style.
Finally, they took a group photo in front of the archaeological site with happy smiles. The visit was successfully concluded.
